ELGIN HIGH CHURCH

Photo Competition

Thanks to all who entered photographs into the competition and to all who supported the exhibition. We raised £123.45 from the catalogues and donations.

The most popular entry was " The blue outlook" in the summer category, a view of  Oban from Pulpit Hill towards Mull. This was from Tom Keir.

Second in the summer category was "Wild summer flowers" from Brenda Cooper, and third was " Thistle do nicely" of a butterfly on a thistle by Keith Currie.

In the Autumn section the most votes went to "Reflections on Millbuies" from Linda McMahon. Runner -up was "Autumn Beckons" from John MacGregor and third was "Kingsmill Bridge" from Maisie Oates.

In the Winter section the winner was Flo Higgins with " Loch Oire", second was "White silence at the Abbey" by John MacGregor and third was "Craigellachie Hotel in Winter" by Brenda Cooper.

The spring category votes were shared equally between " Bluebell woods" by Margaret Stuart, " Walk in the woods" from Ed Stuart and " Natures Awakening" by Una Urquhart.

The overall standard of entries was so high that the committee plan to produce a set of notelets using some of the other photographs as well as using the winning ones in the calendar.

The calendar will be on sale in early October.

Please support this fund-raising effort.
